I am pleased to confirm that following the Council meeting held on 7th November, your club committee has decided to relax the clubhouse dress code. This permits both members and visitors to enjoy use of the clubhouse in attire they feel comfortable wearing. This includes jeans and collarless shirts.
This decision does not extend to the golf course where golfing attire, manufactured by a recognised golf manufacturer remains the requisite dress code.
The decision to relax attire in and around the clubhouse is based on the fact that fashions, personal and social choices change and it is our desire as a progressive club to embrace positive change. Whilst this change doesn’t preclude the club from specifying a particular dress code when linked to a function such as the Men’s dinner (Black Tie) or Annual Dinner Dance (formal wear) it will hopefully afford our members, and of equal importance our guests, with greater freedom in what they can wear within the clubhouse.
This decision will be opened up to wider debate at the next AGM in March / April 2012
