Dress Code

At Davyhulme Park Golf Club we operate with a strict Dress Code for all our members and visitors who want to play golf or visit our club house

ON THE COURSE INCLUDING OUTSIDE PRACTICE AREAS

All players must wear appropriate golfing apparel that would normally be available in a golf supplier’s outlet and as a minimum to the standard set by golf brand designer manufacturers.

For the avoidance of doubt: 
Men:

  • shirts must be appropriate golfing apparel (preferably collared but the new style collarless golf shirts will be allowed) and tucked into trousers or shorts
  • trousers must be ankle length (unless +2’s or +4’s) and not be tucked into socks
  • shorts must be knee length tailored shorts and must be worn with visible sports socks 
  • polo neck tops may be worn on their own, but all other forms of sweater (round necked, V-necked and zip up etc.) must be worn with a shirt as defined above
  • recognised golfing apparel hoodies may be won

Women:
appropriate golfing apparel to include:

  • trousers, cropped trousers, golf leggings, shorts, dresses, skorts or skirts.

Golf shoes must be worn at all times. Caddies may wear trainers but otherwise should comply with the above. Hats must be worn the correct way round.

We do not allow:

  • denim jeans or  denim shorts
  • track or shell suit clothing
  • combat/cargo trousers or combat/cargo shorts
  • beach style shorts
  • sleeveless or round necked t-shirts
  • vests and tops with shoestring straps 
  • football type shirts or shirts with slogans
  • work clothes

The Professional and his staff are instructed not to allow access to the course any person who, in their opinion, is not dressed to the required standard. 

IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND PATIO AREA

Smart casual dress may be worn throughout the clubhouse and patio area. This includes smart jeans. 

We do not allow:

  • track or shell suit clothing
  • combat trousers or combat shorts
  • beach style shorts
  • sleeveless t-shirts
  • football type shirts or shirts with slogans
  • work clothes
  • No waterproof clothing is permitted in the lounges.

Soft spikes and dimples are allowed in the downstairs bar in the summertime only (April to September). Hats/ caps are not to be worn inside the clubhouse.

The only exception will be for more formal functions where the dress code will be advised. Outside functions (weddings, funerals etc.) are also exempt from the above.

No dogs, other than guide dogs, are allowed on the course or in the clubhouse. Dogs are allowed on the patio area and must be kept on a short lead.

The Bar Manager and his staff are instructed not to allow access to the clubhouse and patio area to any person who, in their opinion, is not dressed to the required standard

We would appreciate it if all members and their guests could please follow these new rules. All visitors will also receive a copy of the new dress code.
