48 members turn out for our New Members Competition
On Sunday 23rd August DPGC hosted a New Members Competition to help induct our New Members into the club, introduce them to some existing members and help them along with some of the rules of golf.
Teams of 4 comprising of 3 New Members and 1 Existing Member played a 15 hole texas scramble in what was a not too serious, fun game of golf, featuring longest drive on 6th, Nearest the Pin on 9th & Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 12th.
The winners on the day were
Ben Wood, Stephen Bunn, Jake Rigby & Elliot Reynolds. 7.5 H/C Nett 41.5
Runners Up
Darren Walker, Alan May, Mark Hudson & Chris Iceley. 8 H/C Nett 47
Longest Drive winner, Elliot Reynolds
Nearest the pin 9th Hole, Mike Doe
Nearest the pin in 2 12th Hole, Ben Wood who drove the green, then canned the put for an eagle 2 (see image of his drive)
The winners walked away with the competition on this occasion, however the rest of the filed from 2nd place down to 12th was a difference of only 3.6 shots, Nett 47 to 50.8.
A tremendous performance by the whole field as par for the day was 60
